RMH_ImageHere at PowerDMS, there a few things we just can’t get enough of—policy and procedure management, Mario Kart, hummus (seriously, check out our company fridge) and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida. In the last several years, the Give Back Committee has participated in lots of fundraisers with the House, including two Share-A-Meals.

RMH_LogoSince the first phase of the first Ronald McDonald House was opened in December 1996, the two Central Florida Ronald McDonald House locations have afforded parents and families of children receiving medical care at nearby area hospitals with a “home-away-from-home,” shielding them from stark, pricy, impersonal hotel rooms and sleeping on cold, hard plastic hospital-lobby chairs. Fueled by community donations, these large homes (a total of 59 available rooms) put up families for an average of 11 nights—sometimes for months at a time—and it costs about $68 per night to house one family. Long stays equal big needs, and that’s where PowerDMS comes in.

Like most households in America, the Ronald McDonald Houses of Central Florida can’t seem to keep enough paper towels and dishwashing detergent on hand. This month, the Give Back Committee decided to flood RMH with $500 worth of much-needed, every-day items from its Wish List, including gift cards, snacks, creamer and cleaning supplies. We are thrilled to again be supporting such a meaningful cause!
