The PowerDMS Give Back Committee (GBC) is a huge proponent of donating to worthy organizations, and our March causes were no exception. We always jump at the chance to work with Coalition for the Homeless when the opportunity presents itself. They help over 750 displaced Central Floridians every day, including a large majority of families in dire situations. Their shelters equip the needy with an abundance of tools and empowerment to help get them back on their feet. This time around, the Coalition was in need of 240 under-the-bed storage bins for their residents. Along with donations of the actual bins, the GBC provided a financial contribution to help complete their wish-list item for the month. When members of Citrus Council Girl Scout Troop 879 realized that several classmates at their Lake Mary and Winter Springs, Florida schools were in need of everydaycommodities such as socks and underwear, they banded together and started a drive to make sure every child has these simple necessities. Together with Seminole County Families in Transition, a community organization dedicated to ensuring children lacking a permanent home have basic needs met to continue on their educational journeys, they hope to distribute 500 packages of socks and undies to those in need. The GBC received a donation box from troop 879, and were grateful to contribute to their meaningful mission.
