On April 15, we (the IDS Give Back Committee) participated in our first event – the Track Shack Corporate 5K in Orlando!
Beneficiaries included the Track Shack foundation, which promotes health and fitness with an emphasis on youth athletics, and the Parramore Kids Zone, an organization that aims to lower teen pregnancy, improve school performance, and decrease child abuse and juvenile crime by changing Orlando neighborhoods into healthier atmospheres for adolescents.
A canned food drive also took place during the event, where community members could donate non-perishable food items to the Christian Service Center in an effort to continue providing millions of people with healthy meals.

The race began at 7:15 p.m. just as the sun began to step aside for cooler weather, and garnered over 12,000 participants from more than 600 company teams, ranging from walkers to sprinters! We jogged 3.1 miles throughout downtown Orlando, enjoying live music and the company of a crowd of folks with the same goals as us – to get to that finish line as quickly as we could! Our committee members had a blast challenging themselves while helping contribute to a worthy cause.
