School supplies are a scarce commodity in many areas around the world. To help make a difference, Children of the Nations is assembling School SmilePacks, filled with all the essentials, for children in the DominicanCOTN PencilRepublic. The gift of education is priceless—no person can ever be robbed of the powerful knowledge they obtain. The Give Back Committee (GBC) donated SmilePacks for sixteen lucky children eager to get their learn on. We wish them all the best, and hope they dream big (and use their education to make those dreams a reality!).

If you aren’t familiar with Children of the Nations—now is the perfect opportunity to see what they’re all about. Can you imagine being in pain every single day, for as long as you can remember? This month, the GBC received a heartfelt submission from Dayna Chavarria’s mother, Brenda. Dayna is a pre-teen suffering from multiple Daynaillnesses that keep her from enjoying everyday life. Her illnesses include a disease that affects her brain, along with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, which attacks the cells in her joints. These conditions require constant medical attention and medication to keep her health stabilized.

Despite all the financial and emotional tolls, the Chavarria family continues to maintain a positive outlook. We’re fortunate to be able to ease some of their pain, and wish Dayna endless amounts of strength on her road to recovery. To learn more about Dayna’s story and how you can help throughout her brave battle, click here to visit Dayna’s Dream Foundation. Along with direct financial support for the Chavarrias, we also donated to a heroic organization, Reliance Children’s Foundation, helping families like Dayna’s remain focused on things that contribute to their children’s health and happiness.

Run Around the Pines 5K has always been an exciting race on a beautiful, tree-lined course at Cady Way Trail in Winter Park, Fla. Our team was stoked to join in the fun again this year. The cooler weather made the 3.1-mile runRun Around the Pines 5K even more enjoyable, resulting in personal records for two team members—woohoo!

Health and fitness is a huge part of our lives at PowerDMS. We run distance challenges, marathons and Ragnar relays together and enjoy pushing our limits, while encouraging and supporting each other. The Track Shack Foundation is built on a similar foundation. They encourage fitness by hosting running events to benefit charities throughout the greater Central Florida communities. We’re proud to have a strong and meaningful organization nearby, whose give back ideals align with our own, and always enjoy participating in their sponsored runs.
