What better way to kick off the new year than giving the gift of a jam session!? The Give Back Committee was excited to help out Hoggetowne Middle School of the Performing Arts’ music program—in particular, their rock band. By contributing much-needed musical instruments, their band is now able to rock on to the beat of their own drums. Students choosing Rock Band as their music elective learn to play electric guitar, bass, drums and keyboard. Once they’ve honed their rock-band skills, the students perform at community events throughout the school year. Hoggetowne Middle School of Gainesville, Fla. is dedicated to educating students through high standards in academics, as well as performing arts including Capoeira, Rock Band, Theatre and Dance. We were also fortunate enough to contribute to the Police Unity Tour, honoring fallen law enforcement officers, for the second year in a row. This remarkable 250-mile bicycle ride commemorates the sacrifices made by the brave men and women serving our communities. On May 12, over 1,600 bicyclists and countless support members will meet at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial for an emotional ceremony, ensuring those who lost their lives will never be forgotten. Since 1997, the Police Unity Tour has raised over $1.6 million.
