A Word From the CEO on the Dallas Tragedy

PowerDMS, Josh Brown, offers his thoughts and condolances to the Law Enforcement family

December 22, 2020

For PowerDMS and our family of customers, the last month has been very difficult. We have seen our diverse little city wounded by the futility of bigotry and hate. This morning we woke up to news of a targeted attack to the law enforcement community. Before I started PowerDMS, I was lucky enough to be able to spend 12 years working in IT for the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office. Lucky, because I got to see the overwhelmingly positive side of law enforcement that many do not get to see. I know first hand the strong family bonds that connect these individuals, as well as the great heart they have for the communities they serve. I know the grief felt across our agency as we mourned the loss of those we worked with—friends who were killed doing a job they loved. These officers were willing to put themselves in harm’s way, for a shared purpose greater than themselves.

Many of us only see the mistakes, and certainly, things are not yet as they should be. Still, we believe fully in the value of policing—this noble aspect of our modern lives. We hold strong a hope for restoration, and increased faith given by the communities they have been entrusted to serve and protect.

In the time after the Orlando shooting, many of our customers reached out to us in our grief for the city we love and we are all very grateful for their kindness. We know words will fail to fill the void this act of senseless violence has caused, yet we want the law enforcement family to know they are in our thoughts and prayers.
